Frequently Asked Questions

How much is the entry fee? The entry fee is $40 if paid before the pageant. If you are paying the day of the event it is $50 cash, credit card or money order only.

How do I sign up for a contest? To become a contestant simply click on the Entry Form page, select the city/venue you wish to compete in, and fill out the form. You may use Pay Pal to pay your entry fee or mail a check in with your paperwork.

What are the age requirements? Boys and Girls can compete in ages ranging from 1-12 years by the time of the preliminary pageant date.

Can I compete in more than one pageant if my child does not win? Yes. A contestant is not limited to entering only one contest. He/she may enter until they win a local city/venue and attend the state pageant. Once you win a state title, you will advance to the International Pageant.

On what basis are contestants being judged? Contestants are judged in 2 catagories: facial beauty and projection of personality on stage. It is important to read the rules and regulations before your child competes.

Can I take pictures or video of the contest? Yes. You may take videos at preliminary contests but at most pageants we have an official photographer. They will have pictures to order on-line a week after the pageant. We will also provide a professional photographer at the state competition where photo packages can be purchased.

Am I allowed backstage with my child? Yes. One parent/familiy member is allowed backstage to help the delegate prepare for the pageant.

Do I have to enter the Photogenic area of competition? No. This is an extra category for the children who want to enter the Miss/Mister Photogenic. The photogenic segment is optional and does not effect the beauty score. If your child wins the photogenc portion of the competition they will also have half of their entry fee paid to the state pageant.

What is casual tropical wear? Some venues do not allow swimsuits so we have a tropical casual wear segment (only in the winter months) where boys can wear, shorts or pants and button up shirts or t-shirts any style or color are fine. Girls: dresses, shorts or pants with shirts, any style and color. Just remember to keep the clothing age appropriate for your children. Grass skirts and anything tropical & colorful are accepted.

What style of swimwear do they model? Boys model shorts and t-shirts and girls model one or two piece swimsuits. Please make sure your children wear shoes on stage (sandales, flip flops, etc, no high heels).

Can they use props?Yes. The children can use props on stage (sunglasses, beach towl, bag, etc) if they are comfortable carrying them. It is not required.

Can I go on stage with my child? We require all parents/adult to go on stage with their child, up to the age of 4. At age 5, it is optional. 6 year olds and up must go on stage on their own.

How many times does my child go on stage to compete? Each contestant will go on stage twice; once individually, and then after every contestant in that age division has had their turn on stage, we call all the children in that division back up on stage for a group line-up.

How many winners are there in each age division? We believe that every child is a Winner. We have a system that ensures that every single child will be called back on stage and awarded a trophy. However, the top 5 scoring contestants in each age division is called our "Court" and will be awarded larger trophies Many times, if the age division is large, we will often have ties, therefore instead of having 5 children in Court, we will have 6 or 7 runners-up making court.
